Foxstep licence and website terms
1. What these terms cover
These terms cover the Foxstep licence for the Mac app, and your use of the foxstep.io website. “Foxstep”, “we” and “us” mean the seller named under Contact at the end. If you buy a licence, the version of these terms shown when you buy applies to your purchase.
2. What’s included
- Foxstep for Mac, for one person
- The updates we release for it in the 12 months after your purchase
- £149 including VAT, or the local price in section 9, paid once, with 1,000 Foxstep AI credits (£10 of prepaid AI balance)
The Mac app needs Apple silicon, macOS 14 Sonoma or later and a free Foxstep account. Check your Mac meets these requirements before buying.
3. Your licence
- We grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable licence for one named person to use the Mac app, including for commercial work.
- The licence doesn’t expire. You may keep using the versions you received for as long as they run on your systems.
- Updates we release in the 12 months after your purchase are included. After that, you keep what you have. There is no automatic renewal; later updates are not included.
- Before buying, make one complete guide free, including for client work, without a card or deadline. You may retry, edit and export that guide; failed captures do not consume it. The free offer includes 200 AI credits (£2 of one-time AI balance). Creating further distinct workflows requires a licence; the first guide remains editable and exportable.
- You may not share, sell or transfer the licence.
- A team purchase buys one licence per seat, for 3 to 50 people at once. Each seat is for one named person. The buyer may claim one and give a code to each colleague, who claims a seat with their own Foxstep account. Giving an unclaimed seat’s code to a colleague is allowed; it isn’t sharing or transferring a licence. A claimed seat can’t be claimed again, and each account holds one. To move a seat to someone else, email info@foxstep.io.
- You may install the software where you use it and keep backup copies. You may not redistribute, resell or share the software or licence, or reverse-engineer it except where the law allows it. Third-party components keep their own licences.
The software, its design and the Foxstep name remain ours.
This licence covers unlimited local guide creation and exports, 12 months of updates and 1,000 AI credits. Local cleanup is included where Apple Intelligence is available on macOS 26 or later. Your own agents and model accounts are billed by your provider; purely local connections and exported assets use no Foxstep AI credits. Unlimited cloud inference, hosted agents and messaging services are not included. Shared links are a separate free service (section 4).
AI credits
AI credits are prepaid balance for Foxstep’s cloud AI. One credit is £0.01, including VAT. The free offer includes 200 credits, and purchase adds 1,000 credits to any you have left. Further top-ups of 1,000 credits for £10, including VAT, are optional. There is no subscription or automatic recharge. You must turn on cloud AI before answers or improvements can use your credits. Screenshot descriptions also need cloud AI turned on, but use no credits. Successful requests are charged at the published token rates; failed requests are not charged. With no credits left, local recording, editing, export and existing guides remain available.
AI credits have no automatic expiry. You may ask for a refund of your unused paid credits at any time by emailing info@foxstep.io with your receipt and Foxstep account email. Refunds return to the original payment method. If we permanently withdraw the hosted AI service, we will refund unused paid credits.
Successfully supplied AI usage is not refundable just because you stop using Foxstep. UK consumers can cancel a credit purchase within 14 days; deductions for services already supplied apply only where the law permits. Refunds for service failure, other legal rights and the Onelink refund policy also remain available. More favourable mandatory or Onelink rights take precedence. Turning on cloud AI does not by itself waive your cancellation rights.
We will show any new tariff and require fresh consent before it can apply to your AI usage. You can decline and ask for your unused paid credits back.
Team space
The team space is an optional yearly subscription for a team that bought team seats. It hosts a private library at app.foxstep.io of the guides the team’s makers share with the team. Makers are the people with the team’s claimed seats. Readers are free: colleagues with a verified email address at the team’s company domain, and anyone who joins with the team’s link. Share that link only with people who may see your team’s guides.
It costs £96 per maker a year (£8 a month, billed yearly), including VAT, for 3 to 50 makers. It renews each year until you cancel, and we email you 30 days before each renewal. You can add or remove makers at any time in the billing portal. Added makers are charged for the rest of the paid year; removed makers are credited against later payments. We’ll tell you at least 30 days before a price change applies to a renewal.
You can cancel at any time in the billing portal; the team space then runs to the end of the paid year. When it ends, team links stop opening. Your guides stay on your Macs. The hosted copies remain until their makers stop the links, so starting the team space again brings them back.
A team can share up to 2,000 guides. The team’s owner, who bought its seats, can stop any team link. The 30-day money-back guarantee and the 14-day cancellation right for UK consumers in section 7 apply to the first yearly payment.
4. Your content
- You own the recordings, guides and exports you make. We claim no rights in them.
- You may use your exports commercially, including delivering them to clients as part of paid work. Your clients may keep and use them.
- You’re responsible for what you record and share, including other people’s personal data and anything confidential. Only record what you’re allowed to, and check and redact screenshots before you share them.
- Shared links are a free, optional service for signed-in Foxstep accounts. A link shows the guide to anyone who has it until you stop it, with up to 100 links per account. We may stop a link that breaks the law or these terms. We may change or end the service, giving notice where we can; your guides stay on your Mac.
5. Early access
The Mac app and agent tools are early-access software. It may contain bugs, and features may change. Keep your own copies of exports you rely on.
We don’t promise future major versions, a Windows version, a web or cloud service, or continued compatibility with future operating systems or third-party tools.
6. Your legal rights and our liability
We provide the app as it is, to the extent the law allows. Nothing in these terms affects your legal rights. If you’re a consumer in the UK, you have rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 if digital content is faulty or not as described.
If you buy as a business, our total liability to you is limited to the price you paid, and we aren’t liable for indirect loss or loss of profit. We don’t limit liability where the law doesn’t allow it, such as for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
7. Refunds
30-day money-back guarantee. If Foxstep isn’t right for you, email info@foxstep.io within 30 days of buying the licence, with your receipt and account email, and we’ll refund the full software price to the original payment method. This applies whether you buy as an individual or a business. It adds to your legal rights; it doesn’t replace them.
For a faulty, missing or misdescribed purchase, or an incorrect payment, contact info@foxstep.io with your receipt and account email. Purchases sold through Onelink are also covered by its refund policy. Your mandatory consumer rights take priority.
UK consumers may cancel within 14 days of purchase. We do not treat downloading the app or enabling AI as a waiver of that right. To cancel, email info@foxstep.io with a clear statement such as: “I cancel my Foxstep purchase”, your name, account email, order reference and purchase date. You do not have to use those exact words. Refunds return to the original payment method within the applicable legal deadline.
For team seats, the guarantee and cancellation cover the whole purchase. A full refund removes every seat and each seat’s included AI credits; for a part refund, we agree which seats it covers with you.
A full software refund removes the paid licence and its included 1,000 AI credits. It does not delete your local guides or exports. Refunds of separately purchased AI credits follow the AI credits terms above.
8. Help
Email info@foxstep.io for setup help. We don’t guarantee response times.
9. Price and payment
The software price is £149, paid once, including applicable UK VAT and 1,000 AI credits. In the United States and Canada it is US$149 or CA$199, plus any sales tax; in Australia, A$229 including any GST; in New Zealand, NZ$249 including any GST; in euro countries, €169 including VAT; and in Switzerland and Liechtenstein, CHF 149 including VAT. Team seats, for 3 to 50 people in one purchase, are £119 each including VAT, US$119 or CA$159 plus any sales tax, A$179 or NZ$199 including any GST, €135 including VAT or CHF 119 including VAT. Checkout charges the price for where you are, in that currency. Optional top-ups of 1,000 AI credits are £10 each. The team space is £96 per maker a year, including VAT, billed yearly in pounds. The final total and applicable taxes appear before you pay. Orders shown as “Sold through Onelink” are processed under Onelink’s checkout terms; Foxstep provides the software licence and product support. After confirmed payment, the licence and included credits are delivered to the Foxstep account used to start checkout, normally within a few minutes. Sign into that account in the Mac app and choose Restore purchase if needed. Contact us if delivery fails.
10. Using this website
This website describes Foxstep and may change without notice. Please don’t misuse it, for example by trying to disrupt it or gain unauthorised access. Links to other websites are provided for convenience; we aren’t responsible for their content. Our privacy policy explains how we handle personal data.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. Changes won’t reduce the licence you’ve already bought.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. If you’re a consumer living elsewhere in the UK, you can also bring proceedings in your local courts.
13. Contact
For orders, refunds, support and questions about these terms, email info@foxstep.io. The seller is James Kerr, a sole trader trading as Foxstep, Flat D, 34 Westbourne Gardens, London W2 5PU, United Kingdom.
