- Keep using it
- Your licence doesn’t expire. Keep using the versions included during your 12 months of updates. Later updates are optional; there is no automatic renewal.
- If Foxstep stops
- Guides you’ve exported still open, because they’re ordinary PDF and HTML files that don’t depend on Foxstep.
- Your agent
- Your own agent can read your reviewed guides and their screenshots through the Foxstep MCP connection on your Mac, or follow a guide you export as an AI skill. How it works
- Teams
- Buying for 3 or more people? Team seats are £119 each, in one payment. You get a seat and a code for each colleague, who signs in to claim theirs. Each seat is one person’s licence with 1,000 AI credits and the purchase’s 12 months of updates. Choose team seats when you buy.
- Team space
- Share guides privately with your team at app.foxstep.io. Makers, the people with your team’s seats, share guides. Colleagues read them free after signing in, and the team library shows who shared each guide and how often it’s been read. It costs £8 a maker a month, billed yearly (£96 per maker a year, including VAT), for 3 to 50 makers. Add makers or cancel at any time; cancelling takes effect at the end of the paid year.
- Sharing
- Share a guide as a link from the app. Anyone with the link opens it in a browser, with no app or account, and you see how often it’s been opened. Stop a link at any time. Free with a Foxstep account.
- Client work
- You own the guides you make and can deliver exports as part of paid work. Recipients need no Foxstep app or account. Exports say “Made with Foxstep” at the foot; with a licence you can turn that off.
- Help
- Need help? Email info@foxstep.io.
- Requirements
- The Mac app needs Apple silicon, macOS 14 or later and a free Foxstep account. Recording needs Screen Recording and Accessibility permissions. The MCP connection needs an agent on the same Mac that accepts local MCP servers.
- AI costs
- Local cleanup is included. Apple Intelligence needs macOS 26 and availability on your Mac. Optional Foxstep cloud AI uses prepaid credits; 1,000 are included with purchase. Your own agent uses your model account, billed by your provider. Reading or exporting saved guides uses no credits.
- Not included
- A Windows desktop app, cloud storage or a hosted agent.
Cloud AI
One AI credit is 1p. Start with 200 credits to try, then 1,000 with your purchase. Top up 1,000 for £10, including UK VAT. Credits don’t expire. No monthly plan or automatic top-ups.
Answers and improvements use credits. Screenshot descriptions are free. When credits run out, your saved guides, local editing and exports remain available.
